My German friend Maria who actually hung out a bit with the band, most memorably on a roadtrip we took to the East Coast of Taiwan, told me the following story: Years after being in Taiwan, she was living in Berlin and one night went to a dinner party. There she met another German who had lived in Taiwan. They swapped a few stories about the place. And then started to describe what he considered one of his weirdest experiences there: he was sitting quietly with his girlfriend in a park close to ShiDa one night. Suddenly, several Americans appeared, stripped naked, and started sliding down the slide in front of the house. He said they told him they were in a band -- Bad Fish in Africa. The park and the slide were right in front of my house close to Shida. I can remember a couple of rowdy nights in that park with the band -- and were undoubtedly wasted. But for the life of me, I don't remember getting naked to go down that slide. (Maybe this was his fantasy.) Anyway, word traveled all the way to Berlin to be recounted years later.
